Stage 1

Preparation

  1. Do not add water or any other additive. 
  2. Store at room temperature (10 ~ 30°C), and avoid direct contact of sunlight or fire.
  3. Keep the product sealed before and after use.
  4. Mix the product for 3~5 minutes to evenly disperse ingredients. 
  5. Avoid direct contact to your eye or skin. If contacted, seek for medical advice if you're concerned.
Stage 2

Application

  1. Avoid applying in a humid(humidity over 85%) or cold(10°C or lower) environment, for the coating might not show it's best performance. 
  2. Ventilate the area when applying and drying the product. 
  3. Wear safety equipment at all times. 
  4. Keep the application surface clean. 
  5. if the surface material is cement or concrete, it's best to apply primer before applying the product.
  6. Avoid direct contact of water before the coated surface is fully dried. 
  7. Overly hard repeated strokes (using either brush or roller) may cause Aerogel powder to come off, making the next coat application difficult.

Post

  1. Clean equipment with water after the product application.
  2. Store used product at room temperature.

2X Thermal Guard is an Aerogel based thermal insulation coating has been developed for the first time in India. It is an environmentally friendly, water-based, Thermal Insulation coating – formulated using Silica Aerogel as the key performance ingredient. The product features excellent thermal insulation and water-resistance. It improves the energy efficiency of residential spaces and industrial facilities by reducing power consumption of air cooling systems by at least 20%.

Aerogel based thermal insulation have high porosity, It exhibit the lowest thermal conductivity of any solid, whilst being transparent to light and radiative.

With a thermal conductivity of 0.030W/mK, its performance is the best in its class. In areas without air conditioning, it significantly reduces radiating heat thereby making interiors cool and comfortable. Moreover, you get unmatched protection against heat and cold.

Thermal conductivity of porous insulation depends on the heat transfer through convection of pores.

Typically, pores within conventional insulation are over 1mm wide, allowing gas molecules to move freely and transfer thermal energy by convection.

By comparison, pores within Aerogel can be as small as 20-40 nano millimetre (even smaller than the ‘mean free path’ of air at 60-100nm). As a result, individual air molecules within the pores have no space to transfer thermal energy by convection.

Furthermore, as Aerogel only contains 0.1-5% silica and the thermal conductivity of air is very low, heat transfer is minimal and conduction in the gas will diminish with any decreases in pressure.

Conduction through the solid structure and air molecules within Aerogel is also minimal. With little space for convection, air molecules constantly collide with the walls of the pores, suppressing gas conduction.

The heat transfer is usually a combination of heat conduction, heat convection, and heat radiation. Based on these, there are three different thermal insulation modus: obstructive, reflective, and radiative.

Most reflective paint throws back about 25-30% of the heat energy from the surface to the atmosphere, while absorbing the rest resulting in minimal heat reduction on the substrate.

Aerogel based insulation coating have high porosity, it exhibits the lowest thermal conductivity of any solid. It does not allow the heat to transfer from one molecule to another, resulting in heat getting released back to the atmosphere. This ensures that the surface temperature remains low.

The coating when properly applied following all our instruction lasts for 5 years. Care needs to be taken to ensure there is no major abrasion, oil, acid or other chemical spills on the surface that could react with application surface.

2X Thermal Guard helps is resisting water seepage. However, this is not a water proofing solution.

What to do, and what not to do

Always wear gloves, mask and eye protection glasses during application. This products is non-flammable.

CAUTION

  1. Causes lung damage if swallowed
  2. If accidentally sprayed into the eye, may cause irritation.
  3. Skin Irritation on repeated contact may produce mild irritation.

REMEDIES

  1. Ingestion (Swallowed): Aspiration Hazard.
  2. DO NOT induce vomiting. Call physician, poison control centre.
  3. Eye Contact: Flush thoroughly with water. Remove contact lenses if present after the first 5 minutes and continue flushing for several more minutes. Get medical attention if irritation persists.
  4. Skin Contact: Wash with soap and water. If irritation develops and persists get medical attention.
  5. Inhalation (Breathing): If irritation is experienced, move to fresh air. Get medical attention if irritation or other symptoms develop and persist.
